The President of the United States has proclaimed this week, May 16-20, National Small Business week, to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of America. This has been done every year since 1963, and this year an estimated 27.2 million small businesses in America will be recognized for their impact. On Thursday morning, April 21, IFModules eMail Manager experienced an unprecedented outage of our infrastructure provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS). This outage affected us as well as companies such as Hootsuite, Wildfire, Reddit and Heroku. In short, AWS experienced problems with the network that caused some servers to freeze up, making them inaccessible to eMail Manager customers. On Friday morning, Amazon began to restore service and little by little, customers came back online. By Friday evening, all affected eMail Manager customers were functioning normally again. The good news in all of this was that there was absolutely no loss of data.

IFModules is planning to release version 5.5 of eMail Manager starting on Friday, April 2nd. The release is the result of a combined effort of our support team and valued customers. We are also taking the opportunity to upgrade our service infrastructure by moving to “The Cloud.” This will allow us to provide customers with a choice of data center locations to increase the speed of service connectivity. We currently have data centers in Virginia (US) and Ireland (Europe) and are planning to expand to Singapore (Asia) later in the year.
